How it works

From the first page view to processing

Six stages connect a buyer's first visit to your ability to take cards. The thresholds are the same for every store.

  1. 01

    Gate

Before shopping, a visitor confirms they are at least 21 and a qualified researcher, and acknowledges that products are for research use only and not for human use. These are the buyer's own affirmations. The gate records them; it does not independently verify credentials.

  2. 02

    Attestation

The buyer signs in without a password and signs an intended-use attestation before purchasing. The attestation is tied to their sign-in identity and recorded with a timestamp.

  3. 03

    Ledger

Each attestation joins a SHA-256 hash chain. Every entry includes the hash of the entry before it, so changing an earlier record breaks every link after it. The ledger is tamper-evident: it shows that a change happened, rather than making change impossible. You can export it to CSV.

  4. 04

    Scan

We scan your storefront continuously against a research-use-only rule set, looking for problems such as human-use language, health claims, dosing guidance and missing disclaimers. Each finding says what was found and where.

  5. 05

    Score

Findings roll up into a score from 0 to 100. The score measures your storefront against our rule set. It is not a legal opinion, a regulatory finding, or a decision by Stripe.

  6. 06

    Processing unlocks

When your score reaches 80 and your Stripe account is connected, card processing through PSXPay turns on. Stripe still reviews your account under its own rules.

The thresholds

  • 80 to 100

    Eligible

Processing can be unlocked, or stays on.

  • 65 to 79

    Watch

If processing is already on, it stays on, and you should work through your findings. If it hasn't been unlocked yet, it stays locked until you reach 80.

  • Below 65

    Cure window

We notify you and a 24-hour window starts. Bring the score back to 80 or higher within that window and nothing changes.

  • After 24 hours

    Suspended

If the score hasn't reached 80 by then, processing through PSXPay is suspended until it does.

What a suspension does

It stops new charges through PSXPay at your checkout. It does not touch your Stripe account, your balance, or payouts on charges already made, because those belong to you and Stripe. We may act sooner than 24 hours where the law, Stripe, or a card network requires it, or where a store is selling for human use.
